Man due in court after serious attack on four children

The children were found in a serious condition after having been attacked.

A MAN IS due to appear in court tonight in relation to a serious assault on four children in Co Wicklow.

The man – aged in his mid-30s – was arrested last night after four children were found injured at a home in Blainroe, Co Wicklow, yesterday evening just after 7.30pm.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene after the alarm was raised and found the children in a serious condition after having been attacked.

All four were taken to Tallaght Hospital – with two being airlifted. The children are believed to be aged between three and 11.

The man was arrested a short time later and is currently being held at Wicklow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

The man is due to appear at a special sitting of Bray District Court at 9pm.
